Gap analysis, category mapping and bulk uploads for a multi-category seller
A mid-sized multi-category eCommerce seller offering home essentials and lifestyle products managed inventory through SellerCloud and listed across several major channels.
Only a small portion of the catalogue was on Temu, limiting their ability to benefit from the platform's growth. The goal was to scale eligible listings, hold compliance and build a repeatable onboarding process.
Problem
With thousands of products in SellerCloud and only a portion listed on Temu, identifying missing SKUs without creating duplicates was complex and time-consuming.
Temu's category-specific upload templates required accurate category mapping and strict formatting, and missing mandatory fields caused listing errors across hundreds of products at a time.
Product data often needed cleaning, standardisation and validation before it could be uploaded at all.
Restricted keywords and incomplete information created risk of listing suppression or removal.
Upload failures had to be identified, corrected and reprocessed without disturbing active listings.
Solution
SellerCloud inventory was compared against existing Temu listings to identify unlisted products, which were then prioritised by category relevance and sales potential and organised into upload batches.
Products were mapped to the correct Temu categories and category-specific bulk upload templates prepared, ensuring data accuracy and consistency before submission.
Mandatory attributes were completed, required identifiers added, formats standardised and titles and descriptions optimised for visibility.
Bulk uploads were executed, processing results monitored, and failed records resolved through targeted error correction and reprocessing.
Listings were audited for compliance issues, restricted keywords removed, attribute values standardised and affected products revalidated to maintain catalogue health.
Impact
Catalogue expansion on an emerging marketplace is bounded by data readiness rather than ambition. Auditing the gap, mapping categories properly and validating before upload is what allowed the catalogue to grow by half again without accumulating suppression risk.
